Warning: heavy rain, flash floods
The Meteorological Department on Tuesday morning issued a warning for people in the North and Northeast to brace for heavy rain, possible flash floods and mudslides today and tomorrow.
People living near hillsides and waterways in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lampang, Lamphun, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Tak, Kampaengphet, Phichit, Nakhonsawan, Uthai Thani, Sukhothai, Pitsanulok, Petchabun, Uttaradit, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Surin, Buri Ram, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakham, Roi Et, Kalasin, Sakon Nakhon, Nakon Phanom, Mukdahan, Udon Thani, Nongkhai, Bungkan, Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Ubon Ratchathani, Amnatcharoen, Si Sa Ket, and Yasothon should prepare for heavy rain, flash floods and mudslides, the department warned.
There will also be strong wind generated waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats should keep ashore today and tomorrow, the department said.
